Company Profile

The Future of FP&A in a Spreadsheet

Aleph is an AI-native Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) platform that solves a universal pain point for finance teams: scattered data, endless manual exports, and broken spreadsheets. By acting as a single source of truth, Aleph integrates with over 150 data sources and allows finance professionals to build dynamic, always-up-to-date models directly in Excel or Google Sheets. Backed by top-tier investors like Khosla Ventures and Y Combinator, the company has successfully raised $29 million in its Series B round to further scale its operations and product offerings. With a fast-growing customer base that includes Notion, Zapier, and Turo, Aleph is proving that the future of finance doesn't mean abandoning spreadsheets—it means supercharging them.

A Culture of High Agency and Pragmatism

At Aleph, the engineering and product culture is defined by "high agency" and a builder's mindset. The team operates with a low-ego approach, focusing on finding creative ways to ship impactful features. Pragmatism is a core value, meaning engineers are encouraged to choose the fewest and simplest tools that will actually solve the problem. The remote-first team spans across the Americas, bringing together a diverse group of individuals who share a passion for reinventing financial software.

What You'll Actually Do

If you join Aleph, especially in an engineering role, you will be building and scaling end-to-end production systems for a complex B2B product. You'll own features from conception through launch, working directly with stakeholders to understand their problems and craft intuitive solutions. The tech stack is modern and robust, featuring TypeScript, Python, React, Node.js, and GCP, alongside data tools like BigQuery, MongoDB, and Postgres. Whether you are building performant UIs or handling complex data modeling, your work will directly impact how finance teams at world-class companies operate.

Compensation & Benefits

Aleph offers competitive compensation packages that include employee equity, ensuring that team members share in the value they help create. While public salary data is limited, the company provides a comprehensive benefits package. US employees receive fully paid health, dental, and vision insurance, along with a 401(k) plan that includes up to a 3% match. The remote-first model is supported by flexible work hours and an unlimited PTO policy, allowing employees to manage their time effectively. Additionally, the team gathers two to three times a year for offsite retreats in locations like Panama and Argentina.

The Interview Process

While specific interview rounds and technical questions are not extensively documented publicly, candidates can expect a process that evaluates both strong fundamentals and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving. Given the company's emphasis on high agency and craft, engineering interviews likely involve deep dives into system design, code quality, and past experiences building complex B2B products. Clear communication and the ability to articulate technical decisions are critical components of the evaluation.

Why Join / Why Not

Aleph is an excellent fit for builders who thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and want to solve complex data challenges in the B2B space. If you enjoy taking ownership of features and working closely with a talented, remote team, Aleph offers a compelling opportunity. However, if you prefer highly structured, predictable environments or are not comfortable navigating the ambiguities of a rapidly scaling startup, this might not be the right place for you. The remote-first nature also requires a high degree of self-motivation and proactive communication.
